San Diego 2011

Following our biggest and highest rated Fall Conference ever, Health 2.0 recently hosted the Spring Fling for 2011. Following trips to Boston and Paris in our two previous Spring Conferences, we returned to the scene of our first Spring Fling in 2008 — San Diego.

Monday – Tuesday, March 21-22, 2011
Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA
- – Just 15 minutes from the San Diego Airport! – -

Many things have changed since 2008, but the concept of having specific themes at Health 2.0 Spring conferences has not. And this year so much is going on in the world of innovation in health care that at the 2011 edition focused on three related themes. All three of these themes are essential for the future of health care, Heath 2.0 technologies and services will profoundly impact all three.

The themes were:

  • Making health care cheaper
  • The evolution of research
  • Prevention, wellness, exercise & food

For each theme we showcased new technologies, new services, and new partnerships, as well as catching up with leaders in health care, and Health 2.0. All of these themes will be critical to the Health 2.0 community helping the heath care system evolve in a positive direction.

But that’s not all.

We also showcased winners of the newest set of challenges from the online Health 2.0 Developer Challenge. And in the run-up to the Spring Conference, Health 2.0 we announced a series of very exciting regional code-a-thons around the United States focused on the themes of the San Diego conference, from low cost innovation, to childhood obesity and to the collaboration between researchers and developers. Stay tuned for the announcement about the code-a-thon series timeline and our partnering hosts – a code-a-thon might just be coming to your city! We saw the winners of those Code-a-thons featured on stage, along with our usual mix of demos, brief keynotes and engaging panels–not to mention a sparkling opening night party by the sea.

SPECIAL PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
If you haven’t been to Health 2.0 before, there was a special pre-session in which Indu Subaiya & Matthew Holt (the Co-Founders) delivered a “Health 2.0 101″ to bring you up to speed. (Hope we didn’t use too many numbers there!)
