It gives us immense pleasure to announce our 1st annual Health 2.0 India in New Delhi on January 30th, 2012.

Something has changed. Something is different. And following the success of our events in the United States and in Europe, it makes sense that we engage the unmistakable influence India, China and other Asian countries have had in shaping how we think about innovation and how we solve healthcare challenges.

At Health 2.0 India we will witness Health 2.0 technologies intersecting with ancient culture; where modern medicine and technology collide with the Ayurvedic mindset; where mobile health (mHealth) connects the poor, reaches the unreachable and engages the influentials; where the buzz around healthcare is not just about medical tourism, but also used as soft diplomacy in the fight on terror as well as a tool to strengthen social development initiatives;  and where wellness strikes a yoga pose or leverages a Bollywood tune.

From our very first conference in San Francisco in 2007, where we witnessed the launch of companies like Sermo, PatientsLikeMe, and Healthline, Health 2.0 has explored the worlds of ‘user-generated healthcare’. What became our tag line in ’07 contains the germ of a compelling idea that India and the surrounding region bring to life in ways unimaginable just a decade ago. Patients are using new tools to guide their own care. And now those tools are starting to integrate with the healthcare system. Doctors, patients, and health care organizations are all starting to use a new generation of online and mobile technologies which are fundamentally changing the way healthcare is delivered.
