This panel includes speakers Kenneth Buetow (Associate Director, BioInformatics, National Cancer Institute & Founder, caBIG), Patrick Soon-Shiong (Executive Chairman, Abraxis Health), and Josh Sommer (Executive Director, Chordoma Foundation). Coming together to discuss how the Health 2.0 community can get involved in working with data and services, this panel approaches the issue from a variety of perspectives.
Kenneth Buetow, Associate Director, BioInformatics, National Cancer Institute & Founder, caBIG (cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid)
Ken has an amazing set of academic and government accomplishments in genetics research and the
use of information technology for biomedical challenges. But we’ve invited him here today because he
initiated and oversees the caBIG (cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid) program, an initiative connecting
the entire cancer community in a “World Wide Web” of biomedical research. We’re really excited to see
how his version of Research 2.0 jibes with the data being generated in Health 2.0.
