Searching and Buying in the Marketplace Session

October 1st marked the first day that not only Covered California marketplace opened but the entire nation’s health care market. As close to 54 Million American citizens become insured, the challenge is how to make sure these individuals are getting the best, most affordable, care they can. This breakout brought to stage 5 companies making impressive strides in health care equality.

Employers 2.0: Purchasing and Population Management Session

Navigating the waters of purchasing can be very tricky, but the tools this session displayed, aimed at both employer and employee education, make it easier than ever before. In the same vein, managing a group of employees, especially with the changes which came October 1st, can be just as murky but we think we found some people who can help make sense of it all.

ConnectedHealth & Intuit: Searching and Buying in the Marketplace

ConnectedHealth and Intuit joined together to show an exciting new offering with group health, which includes an option for employers to donate to their employee’s plan, and for the employee to choose which plan fits them best.

Joe Donlan started ConnectedHealth with the conviction that the consumer experience in the health system can still be improved. Prior to ConnectedHealth, Joe was vice president of business development for WebMD Health Services and co-founder of Subimo – which licensed an award-winning suite of health care decision support tools and was acquired by WebMD in 2006.

Jay Badenhope guides the development efforts behind Intuit’s small business health benefits offering, enabling small business employees to easily find affordable health insurance and small business owners to painlessly contribute to employee benefits.
