Sean Nolan – Keynote – HxRefactored

Sean Nolan runs the HealthVault team at Microsoft and has been driving that bus since rejoining the company in 2006 after a ten-year hiatus. He will lead HxRefactored in a instructive keynote, guiding attendees through the messy world of health data. His happiest moments are when he’s writing code and visiting Disneyland, not necessarily in that order, unless of course the WordPress backend suddenly was named the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

Sean is the heart and soul of Microsoft HealthVault, and has been a major player on the data interoperability stage for some time now. With the transition of much of Microsoft’s health business to the JV with GE (Caradigm), some are wondering what role HealthVault will play. But it remains the “grandaddy” of the space with hundreds of devices and applications sharing data with it, and some new developments in working with partners both within Microsoft and without.

Tools and Unplatforms Part 1: The Data Utility Layer

In the last year the complexity of moving data has increased, but technological solutions linking data in different systems, while tackling the thorny issues of privacy, identity and permissions, are becoming more important.
