Ariel Beery is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of MobileODT, a biophotonics startup enabling mobile phones to detect cancer and other diseases. MobileODT’s mission is to make advanced medical imaging available to the billions who have access to mobile phones, but not to physicians, and its first focus is on helping health workers eliminate cervical cancer, a leading cause of cancer death for women in low resource settings Until recently, Ariel served as the Global CEO of the PresenTense Group, an accelerator for social ventures he co-founded in 2005 that has launched over 456 startups as of August 2013, and now has franchise operations in sixteen cities around the world.

Nicole Irvine is the Market Development Manager at Novarum DX. The company, established in 2012, develops smartphone apps for the healthcare, veterinary and food-testing markets. The Novarum Reader allows patients suffering from long-term illnesses to test from home using their phone, sharing those test results with a medical practitioner remotely, rather than having to regularly visit their doctors surgery. The app also allows for remote testing in rural areas, such as testing HIV sufferers in Sub-Saharan Africa, allowing mapping and instant sharing of results where laboratory resources are scarce.

Luis Fernandez-Luque has been involved in eHealth and Medical Informatics research for nearly 10 years. He has more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, 20 of them indexed in PubMed and cited over 211 times in the last 5 years (according to Google Scholar). He has been working in in several research institutions such as Norut, Tech Univ of Valencia (Spain) and Harvard Medical School (USA). He has been coordinating national projects and participated in numerous international projects. He has been working in the last seven years in the field of Health Social Media, becoming one of the leading experts in this emerging field. He is currently the Chairman of the Social Media Working Group of the International Medical Informatics Association.
