UnitedHealthcare Deep Dive

Agile Innovation for Consumer-Centric Care: With the use of personal technology we are ever-connected to information across devices and locations. While seamlessly integrated into day to day life, connected technologies are still evolving in the health care space. Consumers are beginning to expect the same level of service and cost information when it comes to their health. At Health 2.0 Yasmine Winkler, Chief Product and Innovation Officer, UnitedHealthcare, examined the opportunities, challenges, and the changing face of how traditional consumer technology services are beginning to impact individuals, physicians, and the health care system at large.

UnitedHealthcare: Deep Dive

Health reform has consumed a lot of the attention for health plans and other members of the health system. While regulations and deployment will remain fluid during the immediate future, a constant remains – to help make care more affordable, it is crucial to help Americans take better care of their health and become more savvy consumers of health care services. This session provided context regarding our nation’s current health status, as well as examined the steps being taken to deliver a consumer experience that drives true motivation and encourages people to take charge of their health. Through programs that blend technology, financial incentives and even game play, consumers are being asked to improve their health and are becoming empowered like never before.

Introduction Day Two: UnitedHealthcare

The health system is in need of transformative change and this interview session will present a vision for how innovation can improve the way health care services and information is accessed and utilized to provide a more efficient, effective and satisfying experience for consumers and providers (physicians/hospitals).

Unmentionables: UnitedHealthcare

You know a trend is the real deal when the nation’s largest health insurer starts paying attention. Terry has long had his pulse on the consumer market – before running marketing at UnitedHealthcare he lead other brands such as Ticketmaster, Home Shopping Network, Match.com and more. Based on their data–the numbers will floor you–and the realities of their members’ lives, United is prioritizing caregiver support. Millions of caregivers around the country may soon breath a temporary sigh of relief.

Unmentionables: From Getting Down to Moving on

First introduced two years ago, the Unmentionables covers those topics that aren’t talked about in health care and has quickly become one of our most popular sessions. That first year we covered childhood exercise, divorce and personal relationships. In 2011 we highlighted sleep, caregiving, money, suicide and work stress, with demos from Zeo on sleep, Mindbloom on community and mindfulness with GravityEight to bring it all together. This year we’ll visit even more unmentionables including an overview of the Vulnerability Index, poverty, sex and end of life issues.
