Arlene Blum PhD, biophysical chemist, author, and mountaineer is a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley’s Department of Chemistry and executive director of the Green Science Policy Institute. Her research and policy work has contributed to preventing the use toxic flame retardants from children’s sleepwear, electronics, and other products.
