“SHUSH Topics” and the Infamous Unmentionables – Speakers and All Demos

We all know what we need to do to lead a healthier life: stop smoking, drink (red wine) with moderation, follow a balanced diet, increase our exercise, manage our stress… So why are we not all following these recommendations? Because life gets in the way of our good intentions in the shape of “umentionables”: caring for a loved one, being in a bad relationship, facing a difficult job situation, desperately trying to get pregnant… This session factors these situations in a more holistic conversation about our health and showcases solutions that help us counter these “unmentionables”.

The New Landscape for Digital Diagnosis & Health Management Session

If the technology industry has taught us anything it’s that there is no one way to do something correctly. Now through video doctors visits, sensors, and more accessible home visits, these technology companies are changing medicine, one diagnosis at a time.

STD Triage: The New Landscape for Digital Diagnosis & Health Management

As well as being a serial entrepreneur, STD Triage Founder & CEO Alexander Borve is also a spine surgeon and PhD student. Somehow he’s managed to fit in living in seven countries and speaking six languages, all while building a cell-phone based STD Triage service. The app is a spin off of his app, iDoc24 and Alex joined the stage to showcase how far STD Triage has come since it’s inception at Health 2.0 Europe 2012.  The STD Triage app allows users to send in pictures, symptoms, and demographics to a Doctor and receive a diagnosis, therein keeping privacy and anonymity.  The person can then search for information, clinics, or notify other people.
