Mind & Body: Wellness Tools and Apps Session

Improving your physical and mental health is literally in your hands. With hundreds of trackers and monitoring tools bursting onto the health technology market, we made sure to pick the beautifully designed and effective wellness tools out there. These devices and apps cut through the excuses we have made for ourselves to not be healthier and make a better life possible with the click of a button.

BreathResearch: Mind & Body: Wellness Tools and Apps

After launching at Health 2.0 in 2011, BreathResearch returned to demo an all-in-one biometric headset that captures pattern acoustics, heart rate, pulse oximetry, barometric pressure and altitude to guide users to both their optimal level of relaxation and their metabolic thresholds for fitness training. Since founding, BreathResearch has pushed the boundaries of what is “health” and to the few who have voiced complaint, founder & CEO Nirinjan Yee cooly responds, “Just take a deep breathe, and relax.”

Breath Research – Launch!

Nirinjan Bikko Yee ,CEO, Breath Research

Nirinjan has an app and service that reveals what your breathing rate says about your health. Nirinjan began her journey in yoga, where breathing is an integral part of the practice. Bringing in science and software, she created mobile apps that could be used in clinics, teaching hospitals, fitness studios and therapeutic group practices. Here she discusses her findings on how the way once breathes can dictate better health.

Launch!

To be on Launch! it must be the first time a company has demoed at a conference, and the product must either be coming out soon or have been in very limited beta to this point. During 2010 we saw some larger, better funded companies on Launch! but everyone’s had to compete to get on and there are some teeny startups here that you’ve never heard of that might just blow you away. It’s 10 continuous 4 minute demos, and the winner gets a mainstage spot the following year, not to mention bragging rights. Who wins? You decide.
