Chicago Health Tech and Health 2.0 is hosting our Spring Health 2.0 Local conference focused on the changing landscape of opportunities after 4 years of innovations fueled by the Affordable Care Act requirements.

We’re making it an interactive conference experience with a built-in make-a-thon, to provide you with opportunities to hear perspectives from our panelists, get exposed to innovative solutions, and a forum to collaborate with others to solve problems defined by the good folks at the Office of National Coordinator of HealthIT because we’re a community of thinkers, makers, doers, and builders!

Note: Main conference day is Sat, 17 May. Friday evening & Sunday optional and are for those interested in participating in the challenges – you don’t need to be a code! healthcare is about building meaningful solutions – entrepreneurs, physicians, healthcare subject matter experts, graphic designers, UX designers, developers, health data geeks get together to solve real problems.

We're pleased to announced that City of Chicago's Commissioner for Public Health, Dr. Bechara Choucair will be keynoting the Chicago Health 2.0 conference!

Dr. Choucair will share:

  • how the Affordable Care Act has changed the role of local government in managing public health
  • transformations in public health that he's had to spearhead to meet the requirements of the Act
  • the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as we move into a different phase of the ACA

A quick tour of the Affordable Care Act and a landscape of where we're heading.

Traditionally, the entrepreneurial community has neglected Medicaid and underserved populations. Panel: ACA Payment Models – New Business Models & Partner Ecosystems

As ACA shifts our healthcare services from volume-based reimbursement models to value-based reimbursement models, it's also catalyzed a slew of interesting healthcare service delivery models. We'll dive into these various models and dissect:

  • changing healthcare service delivery models
  • new payment and reimbursement models, and the mini-ponds they've created
  • innovative new business models that weren't previously possible

Showcase Series: Consumer Innovations vs Consumer Burden

We'll explore how ACA provides consumer choice, but also places a burden on consumers. We'll take you through a series of innovation solutions that gracefully provide the perfect balance between consumer choice and consumer burden, from employer-employee wellness, to consumer billing advocacy, through to community health.
